Grant Beach Neighborhood Clean UpsThe next Springfield Missouri Grant Beach Neighborhood Clean-Up will be Saturday October 29, 2005 it will be for bagged leaves and small limbs. It will be curbside service with a chipper. The Springfield, Missouri Grant Beach Neighborhood has two neighborhood cleanups every year. One is held in the spring and one is held in the fall. These twice annual events bring neighbors together by working together to help each other make their neighborhood a better place to live. After the cleanup there is usually a big picnic in the park. Neighbors enjoy visiting with one another in a very relaxed and informal setting.

April 23, 2005 Clean Up Photos This annual Spring Clean-Up was a wonderful success. Over 30 neighborhood residents along with Division of Youth Services and SMSU / MSU volunteered their time and energy to make this event happen. GBNA provided pick-up services to over 40 households and filled 14 dumpsters with unwanted items, building materials, etc. Nearly 1,000 tires were collected and nearly 6 tons of metal was recycled. See photos of the April 2005 Neighborhood clean-up Many thanks to all who gave up a Saturday to help make this community improvement project a success!
The City of Springfield is currently funding these clean-ups with assistance from the Urban Neighborhoods Alliance and Community Partnership of the Ozarks. GBNA has been the forerunner in setting the standard for these city-sponsored clean-ups and out continued success was instrumental in securing City funding. We have been sponsoring two clean-ups a year for 10 years so we have a lot to be proud of! Many of which had no funding from the city!

The Grant Beach Neighborhood Betterment Association is a group of citizens working together to maintain and improve the quality of living in our area. We meet monthly on a regular basis to address neighborhood concerns, and encourage residents to start smaller neighborhood watch groups in their block. We believe that people should actively participate as citizens in a democracy and as neighbors in in a community. We are a group of citizens interested in working together to maintain and improve the living quality of our neighborhood, motivate the city to address our concerns, be a spawning ground for neighborhood watch programs and build a sense of community among us. Working together, there is little that cannot be done, working apart there is little that can be done. Mission Statement: "Improving the quality of life in our neighborhood" This website is simply a tool we use to help keep our neighbors connected to each other, to their neighborhood and to their City of Springfield, Missouri. Please consider attending the monthly meeting. Potluck Dinner for the whole family and Free child care for the meeting
