Grant Beach Neighborhood Association have many wonderful things going on the the neighborhood if you want to participate. They have monthly informational meetings with pot luck dinners. (participation is not required but you are welcome if you want). They have several annual events such as: National Night Out, Neighborhood pet show (all pets welcome), Pumpkin decorating contest and Costume contest, 2 neighborhood clean-ups per year and more... There is a Welcoming committee, a Hospitality committee, Special events committee... They have the MELD program the FAST Program and a whole lat more etc... There are lots of opportunities to be connected with your neighborhood as much or as little as you want. This is a fun easy going group that stays well informed on issues that would effect their neighborhood.
There is a park that the neighborhood residents love dearly. It has a swimming pool, a kiddies pool, baseball field, tennis courts, basketball courts, play grounds, picnicking, large pavilion, etc.... a historical train museum, and more. Click here to see photos of Grant Beach Park.

| Weaver Elementary even has a program called the Walking School Bus. It works the same way as a regular school bus except it walks. They have adult volunteers and designated bus stops to pick child up and get the safely to and from school. This Walking school bus has been reported on as far away as St. Louis and Kansas City!! The Grant Beach Neighborhood Betterment Association is a group of citizens working together to maintain and improve the quality of living in our area. We meet monthly on a regular basis to address neighborhood concerns, and encourage residents to start smaller neighborhood watch groups in their block. We believe that people should actively participate as citizens in a democracy and as neighbors in in a community. We are a group of citizens interested in working together to maintain and improve the living quality of our neighborhood, motivate the city to address our concerns, be a spawning ground for neighborhood watch programs and build a sense of community among us. Working together, there is little that cannot be done, working apart there is little that can be done. Mission Statement: "Improving the quality of life in our neighborhood" This website is simply a tool we use to help keep our neighbors connected to each other, to their neighborhood and to their City of Springfield, Missouri.
