Grant Beach Neighborhood's Pets On Parade

The purpose of this web section is three-fold. The first purpose being neighborhood safety. When a pet goes missing it is devastating for a family. If the residents of the neighborhood are familiar with each other's pets when one gets out it is likely that someone in the neighborhood wil reognize the pet and contact a member of the neighborhood association. along that same purpose is when a pet goes missing we will be able to quickly post a photo of that missing pet on the home page, since we will already have the photo on the website. That will get your pet's photo posted much faster then trying to get a photo to use when your pet comes up missing. This will help reunit pets and families hopefully without the pet being picked up by animal control officers. The second purpose if that pet owners can share ideas and stories to help each other be more in tune pet owners. The third purpose if summed up in one word, FUN. When you send in your pet's pictures with their story we will post them on this website setion.

NOTE: During the transition from the old website to this new, three residents had sent in photos and stories of their pets. Before this websection was ready, there was a computer disaster and those three pets On Parade entries were lost. So PLEASE, if you are one of those three residents, PLEASE esend your Pets On parade entries.

Here are some questions and answers that might help explain this new website section. If you have other questions, please feel free to email the webmaster.

How do I get my pet posted?

This is really easy. Simply email the webmaster a photo or photos of your pet. In the email type something about your pet. lawanna@spfdbus.com IMPORTANT: ONE pet per email, PLEASE. Any snap shot of your pet will be fine. You can use a digital camer, or you can use a film camera and scan your photo.

What should I type about my pet?

Type anything you want to share about your pet such as: Pet's name, Pet's age, Pet's breed, something cute your pet does, tricks your pet knows, a heroic act of your pet, something special about how you got your pet... Just type anything about your pet that you want to share. Kids love reading about pets, seeing photos of pets and showing off their own pets.

How much do I have to type about my pet?

You can type as little as a couple lines or as much as several paragraphs.  That is up to you.  We will do our best to post what you send in.

What about my privacy?

We will NOT post YOUR name, email or address! PERIOD! Unless you request it. The listings will be by the pet's name only. we here at the Neighborhood association will keep a log of who the pets belong to, so if a pet goes missing and is found, the finder can contact the webmaster or a member of the nieghborhood association adn we will then contact the pet owner.

What is the purpose of doing this?

This is just something fun for families.  Hopefully it will be a way for families to show off their pets while raising enthusiasm for the Pet Show coming up in September.  Also it may be a way to encourage kids to read.  Later, we will make puzzles out of the pets' photos and post those puzzles with your pet's photo. Puzzles of your pet's photo will be fun for families to have.  We will also use this section to post pet care tips and hints.

When will my pet be posted?

As soon as possible. we have only one webmaster, who does work a full time job. However, every effort will be made to get your pet's photos and story posted as promptly as possible.

Can we update the photos or update the information?

YES! Within reason we are happy to add additional updated photos, stories and info about your pet. we are not setup to be an online photos album, but each pet can have up to a dozen photos and a few short stories. Example, if your pet gets a new hair cut, grows, etc.. simply send in an email to the webmaster. Give the name the pet was originally listed with, and include the updated infor and or photos.

If you have a puppy or a kitten, ect, feel free to send in periodic photos so your neighbors can watch your beloved pet grow and mature. also, if your pet gets lost and its looks have changed, no one will recognize it. So, do send in updated photos from time to time.

If you would like to add many many photos we encourage you to use www.SpaceToob.com That is a website similar to MySpace EXCEPT that it is owned by the Grant Beach Neighborhood website's webmaster and many efforts are put out to keep the site as family friendly as possible.
