Below this line are previous notes and tips from Officer Angela. Above this line are tips and noste from Officer Pam
Submit Happy Fourth of July, Independence Day! This is a reminder, please DO NOT SHOOT FIREWORKS INSIDE CITY LIMITS! Your fireworks will be confiscated and possibly a summons given to you for appearance in Court. Be safe and enjoy your day off of work or being out of school! Officer Angela
Submit I want to say "Thank-You" to everyone who is helping me with issues in the neighborhood! Please continue in your efforts. Officer Angela
Submit I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It has been a pleasure and honor to work with everyone. I am looking forward to 2006! Officer Angela Burgess Grant Beach Substation
Webmaster Note: Officer Angela handed out Halloween candy to 129 kids and gave out about $200 worth of prizes at the Grant Beach Police Sub-Station for Halloween. It sure sounds like the Grant Beach Neighborhood Police Sub-Station was a favorite Halloween stop for lots of fun!! THANK YOU Officer Angela!!
Submit Please remember since it is getting dark earlier, be sure to have your outdoor lighting in working order. This will help you to make your home safer during the winter hours. Thanks! Officer Angela Burgess
Submit Wow, summer has come and gone. Halloween is fast approaching and all of you little ghosts and gobblins will be out looking for treats. Parents, please do not let your children go out alone. Stay with them and check their candy when done trick or treating. Carry a flashlight and put some reflective tape on costumes so drivers of vehicles will see them. Glo sticks are also a great idea! Please feel free to contact me anytime for questions, comments and concerns. I hope to see you out and about soon! Officer Angela Burgess
August 2005:
With school starting on Thursday, there
will be a lot of kids out walking and more vehicular traffic around the schools.
Please SLOW DOWN and be aware of your surroundings! The school zone is a 20 mph
zone.
May 2005: Please remember when you are out driving your vehicles and there is cause for your windshield wipers to be on, you MUST use you headlights! This is for everyone's safety and is a relatively new law. This is cause for a police officer to stop you and issue a summons. |

The Grant Beach Neighborhood Betterment Association is a group of citizens working together to maintain and improve the quality of living in our area. We meet monthly on a regular basis to address neighborhood concerns, and encourage residents to start smaller neighborhood watch groups in their block. We believe that people should actively participate as citizens in a democracy and as neighbors in in a community. We are a group of citizens interested in working together to maintain and improve the living quality of our neighborhood, motivate the city to address our concerns, be a spawning ground for neighborhood watch programs and build a sense of community among us. Working together, there is little that cannot be done, working apart there is little that can be done. Mission Statement: "Improving the quality of life in our neighborhood" This website is simply a tool we use to help keep our neighbors connected to each other, to their neighborhood and to their City of Springfield, Missouri. Please consider attending the monthly meeting. Potluck Dinner for the whole family and Free child care for the meeting
